The process depends on factors including the person’s age and needs. Before booking, check which stages the specialist provides and whether other professionals need to be involved. A service name does not automatically mean a particular instrument will be used or that a complete assessment takes one appointment.

What to prepare

Previous reports and examples involving communication, changes in routine or sensory needs may be useful. Ask what the first meeting involves, how assessment conditions can accommodate the person’s needs, and how findings and next steps will be discussed.

Language of the discussion and assessment tools

The consultation languages in the profile refer to conversations with the specialist. Before booking, confirm the language available for each test, interview and written report; not every instrument has an appropriate version in every language.
